King Township is a predominantly rural municipality, situated at the northwest part of York Region in the treasured Oak Ridges Moraine countryside. King Township is well known for its lush topography of rolling hills and valleys, and its prize winning cattle farms, and world class horse farms.
King Township is also the home of the Holland Marsh which is recognized as the “Vegetable Basket” of Ontario. The Holland Marsh with its rich chocolate black soil is an agricultural heartland featuring, numerous market gardens, pick-your-own orchards, livestock operations, large crop farms, sod farms and nurseries.
King Township currently has a population of approximately 20,000. Most of these people reside in the township’s main urban centres which include: King City, Schomberg, and Nobleton. King City is home to the King Township municipal offices located at 2075 King Road.


Pastoral landscapes shaped by the Oak Ridges Moraine are the perfect backdrop for the many estate homes that dot King Township’s rural countryside.
