The City of Brampton with over 335,000 residents is one of Canada’s largest and fastest growing municipalities. Brampton holds the distinction of being the seat of government for the Region of Peel which also includes the Town of Caledon and the City of Mississauga.
Brampton is proud of its cultural diversity. This pride is put on display every summer when Brampton hosts the city-wide Carabram Festival. A new Brampton landmark is the Hindu Sabha Temple, situated on 25 acres of land at 9225 The Gore Road, in northwest Brampton. This temple is approximately 32,000 square feet. The 120 foot Shikharas (peaks) are lit up at night and can be seen from miles away.
Brampton shares its northeast border with the City of Toronto and the Lester B. Pearson International Airport. This close proximity to Toronto, and the airport, has attracted many large companies to Brampton including : Ambro, Bacardi, Brampton Brick, ItalPasta, Nortel Networks, Siemans, and Daimler Chrysler, which is Brampton’s largest employer.
