a OVERVIEW

Milton is a picturesque town nestled at the base of the majestic Niagara Escarpment. This predominantly rural town is blessed with an abundance of conservation lands and a vast countryside that is dotted with historic hamlets, prestigious horse farms, and beautiful golf courses.

Visitors flock to Milton to explore its many conservation areas and museums, to shop in its excellent antique stores, to play on its golf courses, and to spend an afternoon at one of the many pick-your-own farms located in the countryside.

Milton’s main population centre is located south of Highway 401, where the downtown heritage district is situated. East of the downtown, many new home subdivisions have recently been built, and many more are currently under construction. Milton is still a largely rural municipality, however its urban core is quickly expanding, as this Town is poised to welcome a large influx of new residents in the coming years.
